A visit to Sarlat is, well worth it. Sarlat is the capital of the Perigord Noir. In this beautiful, historic town you can admire more than 1000 years of architecture. Furthermore the Saturday market is a real adventure. Everyone from the region seems to be there. There are typical local products, clothing, arts and handicrafts sold. Also there is music and street theatre.
You realy should pay a visit to the town of Rocamadour. Rocamadour is located in the Lot region. The town is the most visited pilgrimage destination of France after Lourdes. Rocamadour is built against a cliff. On top of the rock is a fortress. Via a winding path (or a lift if you prefer) you can reach the shrine that was built halfway between the rock wall. Here you can see a nice series of chapels with frescoes and a church. The staircase with many visible fossils of marine origin brings you down the mountain. There lies the charming tourist town with its narrow streets.
Sport and Nature
With its varied landscape the Dordogne is an ideal environment for active outdoor people. On the rivers Dordogne and Vézère you can for instance go canoeing and kayaking. The extensive forests tempt many to take long walks away from civilization. A few kilometers from the hotel there is an eighteen hole golf course.
